Freezing impacts

Freezing flows are crucial in many different situations from plane icing to the formation of ice structures in nature. The complexity here comes from the coupling between the free surface hydrodynamics and the heat transfer. I will present and discuss in this talk how a drop impacting a cold surface can freeze and how the solidification interfers with the impact dynamics.
